Jerald Max Green was born on July 18, 1944 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is the second of four children and the only male born to his parents: Max Earl Green and Velma Isadora Bostic. Shown to the left is Jerald with his mother, Velma, in 1944.
For most of his life, Jerald has been known as Jerry. His middle name, Max, was passed down from his father’s first name.
Jerry has three sisters: Barbara Joan, Denise Joann, and Deborah Jo. His family moved to California, then to Arizona when he was a teenager. First, they lived in Tucson for a while before settling in Scottsdale. The photo to the left is Jerry with his dad, Max.
Jerry graduated from Scottsdale High School in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1962. He helped to pull together a wedding in just 11 days when he married Karen May Dominik, May 1, 1965 at United Methodist Church in Phoenix, Arizona.
Jerry and Karen have two children together: Andrew Arthur (1976) and Amy Diane (1978). The couple has been married for 42 years.
Jerald worked for many years at Fry’s Food and Drug stores as a manager. He retired in May, 2007. In his spare time, he can often be found riding around Chandler, Arizona on his 2001 Harley Fatboy motorcycle, pictured on the left. He also enjoys funky cars, like his a 2005 Scion. Jerry says he bought it “because it was ugly.”
He enjoys riding motorcycles, watching television, playing poker, spending time with his family, and helping friends and neighbors with whatever they need.
