Olly: Incognito
Feb 15th, 2006 by Jessica
We discovered Olly with his face stuck in a bouquet of flowers and a nose full of pollen. Caught… yellow faced and red pawed, right in the act!

My Valentine created a Scavenger Hunt for me this morning with Harry Potter valentines and massage certificates. Isn’t that super sweet???

Thanks, Andrew!

Have you ever…
Feb 9th, 2006 by Jessica
Have you ever know a person whom you thought was your friend, only to realize later that “friend” was never the right word to describe that relationship? It took me fourteen years to figure this out with one particular person. I realize now that “classmate” or maybe “acquaintance” should have been used instead.

Once you finally understand your mistake, and look back over all those years, it sure is crushing. Sad, even. From now on, I’ll be more careful about how I classify relationships in my life.

My First Exhibit
Feb 3rd, 2006 by Jessica
Well, the day is finally here. Nearly two years of planning has led to the opening of my very first photography exhibit. I am the featured artist at Boyce Thompson Arboretum for February, 2006. My mother-in-law, Karen, helped me to hang all the pieces this afternoon out at BTA. We took a few photos to remember the day.

If you would like to see the show, go to http://www.tumbleweeddigital.com/ for a free admission coupon to my reception on February 11th. I’m so glad this is finally happening!!! I thought this day would never come.

Four Years
Feb 2nd, 2006 by Jessica

Today marks a four-year milestone from the day I walked out on the balcony to marry Andrew. I can’t really say aisle, since it was more of a few steps down some old wooden boards. Not really a plank, but, you know, not an aisle. It was literally a wooden balcony, four stories up.

Enough of that. So where are we today? We woke up this morning after hitting snooze multiple times, around 7:10am. Andrew hopped into the shower and I checked my email. We had some donuts for breakfast, separately, and then got in the car to drive to work. We dropped off a video (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, ironically) at Blockbuster and then headed to the office.

I usually drive to MCCCD in Tempe, then Andrew takes the car on to High-Tech Institute in north Phoenix. He’s currently driving a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo hatchback, in Spicy Orange. He loves it. I prefer my Envoy. His car gets double the gas mileage as mine, so we drive his.

We spend the day working, he as a web programmer and me as a Linux administrator and backup application specialist. Once the day is done, usually he picks me up and we drive back to Gilbert. Today I’ll be getting a ride home with a friend who lives out our way because I can leave a little early.

Tonight we both have class. This semester, I’m taking Cisco Networking, Adobe Photoshop CS, and Piano I. Andrew is enrolled in Life Drawing (naked people, mostly, and weird body parts). So we’ll be in class basically from 6:30pm to about 10pm tonight. After that, it’s off to home.

At home we usually surf the web, play games or watch television. Lately we’ve been ignoring the yardwork and the weeds are taking over. We just don’t have any daylight to commit to making the outside of the house look pretty, especially since we are never out there. The only reason we open the shades in the morning is so that our kitties, Olly, Cheetoe and Tumbleweed can watch the birds while we are gone all day. What an interesting life…. Two DINKs, just going through the motions.

That’s what our married life is all about. Happy Anniversary, Andrew! I love you sweetie.
