Some thoughts:

Tip #6:It sounds like you were consulting the volunteers who are in the area of the computers. Those volunteers are very helpful for problems in using equipment. For the kind of questions you were asking, I would go to the staff at the desk.

Tip #1:Your magnet idea sounds interesting, but only works if only a few people are using it.
