Week #21 – Commercials. Do you remember any commercial jingles from your childhood? Share them here.

The commercial that stands out to me was the Pepsi “Summer Fun” advertisements where people were walking around like Egyptians and telling consumers to “Chill Out.”  I remember they ran one with Michael Jackson that was really cool. One of the more memorable ads was for Wendy’s Hamburgers with the little old lady screaming, “WHERE’S THE BEEF?”  They recently resurrected that one but it hasn’t taken off like it did in the 80’s.

I remember in general always seeing ads for toys like He-Man, She-Ra, Nintendo, Cabbage Patch Kids, Strawberry Shortcake, Etch-a-Sketch and Slinky.  I grew up in the days where it was perfectly legal to air commercials for toys promoting the cartoons you were watching at the time.  I think Saturday morning had more commercials than cartoons.
