Halloween is Over
October 30th, 2006 by Jessica

Some neighborhood kids thought it would be fun to steal everything in our front yard tonight. It was all there at 9pm, but when we started finishing touches at 10pm, everything was gone.

They took the blacklite, the lighting effects machine, about 15 strings of lights, light bulbs, extension cords… Everything they could rip off the house. It was all tied down or stapled into the house. They just ripped it all down and took off.

I think I’m going to cry. I just can’t fathom destroying someone else’s house for fun. Stealing from your neighbors. Ruining all the hard work they spent so much time on. Completely devastating their holiday spirit.

Andrew says we still have to hand out candy tomorrow. I can’t bear the thought of giving candy to some little kid who ripped our entire Halloween apart.

I hope the kids who did this to us have the same thing done to them someday.
